Are you solely responsible for your own fears and limitations?

Fear is an unpleasant emotion which is caused by someone or something that is dangerous to us. Fear causes by panicking, distress, pain, threat and anxiety. Fear has two meanings (1) Forget Everything and run or (2) face everything and rise. Fear can cause someone to become paranoid. Fear is real and can control a person’s mind. Fear can paralyze one, Fear can take control on someone and Fear can also cause heart attacks and other health problems. Fear is like a disease or virus that can eat your confidence, your health, your wealth and your dreams slowly. Limitation can cause yourself to have restrictions on your own emotions. Fear and limitations are related to each other, like if we put boundaries and limits on ourselves for doing something that is risky which can somehow harm us than we don’t have to fear anything since we never did it because of the limitation we set for ourselves. But I believe sometimes we are not responsible for our fears and limitations by being forced to do things that we are not supposed to or the thing that are not in our hands. As -Will Smith Said “Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real, but fear is a choice.” (1) To start with I would like to say that in this world nobody is perfect, and nobody is free of fears and limitations, everyone is trapped in their own life problems. I will tell you my story. I lived in a middle-class family with three sisters, and My Dad and Mom. One day my father decides to send three of us abroad to peruse our career and make our future bright. But nobody was supportive of my dad’s decision and he faced lots of problems and criticism. Our relatives and society were accusing my father that he is sending his three young daughters alone to study abroad. No women in our family has went that far for education, but my father stayed strong and forgot about the limitations that our society has set, and the fears he would have to face. He thought wisely. My father told us, “you three are my strongest daughters and you three will make me proud one day”. I cried when I was leaving him to come abroad. I was scared and limited myself of somethings when I came here. I was not confident enough to talk to anyone, but my father explained to me and said, “if you can’t face your own fears you can never be successful in your life”. As Stephen R Covey 7 Said, “Your life doesn’t just “happen.” Whether you know it or not, it is carefully designed by you. The choices, after all, are yours. You choose happiness. You choose sadness. You choose decisiveness. You choose ambivalence. You choose success. You choose failure. You choose courage. You choose fear. Just remember that every moment, every situation, provides a new choice. And in doing so, it gives you a perfect opportunity to do things differently to produce more positive results.” (2). Then slowly I got use to everything and made myself comfortable in this new environment and faced my fears and I didn’t let my mind took over me or let the limitations define my future decisions. My father is the only person who supported us till now and he has all the faith and trust in us. Without him I could not survive a single second in this diplomatic world. I have learned a lot from my mistakes and my past. I have faced many fears. As Franklin D. Roosevelt Said, “There is nothing to fear but fear itself.” (3). If you could learn not to fear, one could be healthier and happier in life. There would be nothing to worry about, but it is easier said then done, there is nothing to fear. If we fear constantly, life will be miserable. In conclusion I believe we are solely responsible for our own fears and limitation because if you feel that any of your thoughts are not right or right, it is well within your power to change it. And as Bernard Beckett Said “The more the media peddled fear, the more the people lost the ability to believe in one another. For every new ill that befell them, the media created an explanation, and the explanation always had a face and a name. The people came to fear even their closest neighbors. At the level of the individual, the community, and the nation, people sought signs of others’ ill intentions; and everywhere they looked, they found them, for this is what looking does.” (4)
