Engineering has provided a new dimension to my thoughts and ideas. The perception of engineering has taught me that knowledge and innovation have no limits.
I drew my inspiration towards Mechanical from my father who used to work with me on various mini-projects during my vacations. He was the one who introduced me to tools like Spanner, Allen keys, Wrench, etc. I also saw my father repairing things like radio and car which triggered in me a desire to know more about what happens inside these machines. When I finished school I choose to pursue my career in Mechanical, because of my natural ability in technology and my liking for the Mechanical field.
In the November of 2018, I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology. During my 4 years in Manipal, I was part of Manipal Academy of Higher Education’s FSAE team where I worked as the Technical Head of the team and was in the vehicle dynamics team. I was enraptured by the intricacies of a racecar, for example, a change of as small as 0.5mm in length of rear toe linkage can have a very large effect on the car’s performance and handling characteristics. After working relentlessly and watching something I built not only run but also win, made me choose the automotive field for my future. Owing to my interest in the automotive field I joined Schnell Motorsports as Testing and simulation engineer. I created a 4 tire Vehicle Model on MATLAB and got to work on tuning the vehicle setup.
Last year I participated in Formula Student Austria 2018. I interacted with students studying in Europe and I was amazed to hear about the resources, exposure, and opportunities. Netherland is home to companies like Spyker Car, Donkervoort and PAL-V, which have made their mark in the automotive filed through their advanced technology and innovative ideas. This history of technological innovation in the automotive field and my experience in Europe inspired me to choose Netherland for my higher studies.
At this juncture of my career, I feel that my educational and professional qualification coupled with the opportunities arising out with tremendous industrialization have reinforced my goals and have developed a keen desire in me to pursue my master’s course in University of Applied science, which would definitely equip me with comprehensive and specialized skills
Studying at Manipal gave me the opportunity to be a part of a culturally diverse environment. Students of Manipal Institute of technology come to study from different countries like Bahrain, Italy, Uganda, Malaysia making it a culturally rich surrounding. During my 4 years in Manipal, I realized that studying in such an environment enhances my ability to learn. Apart from that my trip to Europe gave a huge opportunity to learn a bit about the culture of different countries like Germany, Czech Republic, and Austria. The past 5 years of my life gave a sense of respect for different cultures and made me adaptable to them
I want to study at “HAN University of Applied Science” because of your outstanding educational system, focus on gathering relevant work experience, and your excellent infrastructure. which I believe will not only supplement my knowledge that I have acquired but also provide me with the best possible platform for the attainment of my future goals Modules offered in “Automotive Systems” like System Modeling and Applied control really interest me. After speaking with students, professors and experts in the automotive field like Claude rouelle, I am confident in my decision. I would really appreciate to receive an opportunity to study “Automotive Systems”. I look forward to your positive response.
