Robin hood army

Summary

No matter if there is scorching heat outside or heavy rain, there are some people who take out time from their hectic schedule to spread these smiles. We as a group are called “Robin Hood Army”.

We are a volunteer-based organization that works to get surplus food from restaurants across, to the less fortunate people in cities across India and neighboring countries.

Purpose or vision to work:

1. Why is there food wastage in one part of the city and hunger in the other part?

2. Why can’t the surplus food from restaurants can be given to needy and underprivileged kids?

3. Why can’t we, the more privileged people can work towards building the future of our nation?

4. Why we always must wait for a support from our government and other NGO’s for the underprivileged children?

5. Why can’t we bring the change?

Why we work? or mission of our work.

1. To eradicate hunger and poverty.

2. To prevent wastage of food.

3. To teach those who can’t afford education.

4. To promote cleanliness and sanitation in the slum areas.

These kids wait eagerly for us every Sunday, and when we reach, they themselves sit down patiently to study with us, play with us and eat food. I am not saying that we are doing something extraordinary, but from one generous act of ours the millions of smiles which we get is priceless and is a way beyond all the comforts we have ever seen.

How we connect?

RHA only uses social media to reach out to its 12″,300-odd volunteers. While Instagram and Twitter have helped them engage more with volunteers and followers, all social network sites have been used during their pitches to

restaurants. The team usually shares the posts or comments of their pages and photographs to show that they are working and distributing the food.

Academics:

The Robins conduct regular classes and excursions with a standardized curriculum to introduce and drive the spirit of learning.

Along with teaching the students. the Robins also help ensure the kids have the required documents to get admitted into government schools.
