5.3.2 Cross analysis

This section mainly analyzes the data in the questionnaire that needs to be combined with the basic analysis data for further analysis. It includes functionality and user expectations. In this section, respondents who had experience with smart home are defined as actual early adopters as same as respondents “already in use” in questionnaire, and respondents who never experience with smart home but willing to try are defined as potential early adopters as same as respondents “prepare to use” in questionnaire.

5.3.2.1 Performance

The analysis uses the degree of interest in smart homes in the basic data as an independent variable.

Among actual early adopters, 78% believe the most important function is remote control and monitoring by mobile phone or computer, followed by more than 50% demand for security alarms, smart locks, inductive controls, emergency calls and smart health. d) Consumer pain point?

Excessive expectations, blind purchases, product prices.

e) The best way for potential consumers to buy smart home?

For enthusiasts, manufacturer direct selling is a better way; for systems requiring solutions, integrators are the only way.

f) Probability of sales channel expansion?

More professional studios or creative teams may emerge in the future.

g) Buy a single product or a total solution?

The way the user purchases depends on the actual demand and the products available in the market at the time.

h) How to deal with after-sales service during customer warranty? How to improve?

At present, after-sales service is mainly to appease customer discontent, passive and disorderly, which is caused by the lack of technical accumulation leading to design mistakes and low construction quality.
